I have a 2007 Pontiac G6 GTP with a 3.6L engine. OCI was 5,110 and car is approaching 100,000 miles.
GM 3.6L V-6 (L Y7)
Gasoline (Unleaded)
REPORT DATE: 8/25/2015
OIL TYPE & GRADE: Valvoline Max Life Semi-Syn SW/30
OIL USE INTERVAL: 5, 110 Miles
- This engine looks excellent at just under 100,000 miles, so we don't think you need to make any changes at all. You were interested in running the oil longer and we think that would be fine too. Universal averages show typical wear levels for this type of engine after about 5,400 miles on the oil. You went about
that long, so it's good to see all wear reading below average. The trace of fuel dilution lowered the viscosity a bit, but that's harmless and might be unavoidable due to your driving conditions. The TBN was still fine at 2.2. Try going 7,000 miles next oil.
