Well, sometime yesterday, for me: A dragonfly.

A rather big, well preserved and crispy Dragonfly.

What's the strangest thing that ever came out of your car's HVAC system, or vent apparatus?

I had more pictures, but, you guys get the idea. It's a dragonfly.

Its head came off when I trued to get it out with a pen, since its body went back IN the vent first before it came back out. Guh.

I was in a friend's Jetta and a Hecho en Mexico sticker blew out of the center vent.

I bought a used Chevy van. The heating ducts weren't blowing much air, so I finally got around to disassembling them under the dash. Found a big bag of very dried-out pot. Many years ago.

My Beetle years ago when my aunt owned it had a semi truck's tire tread hit the car blowing out the headlight, hood, messing up the A-pillar, and caving in the windshield.

For about 5 years afterward when using the defroster, shards of glass would come flying out. It was definitely interesting. Defrost gets used maybe once a year in Phoenix.

My grandfather had a noisy fan motor in his Silverado, took out the blower motor and a business card was in there hitting it, like when we were kids with playing cards and a clothespin in the spokes of our bicycles.

I've had smoke and bees, about 10 bees which really doesn't sound like many unless your confined in small area travelling at a high rate of speed. Both were not happy experiences.

A spider showed up on my Volvo dash when I was driving to Las Vegas. He crawled into the vent before I could kill him, and I strongly considered pulling over and torching the car on the side of the Interstate. As I was starting the car to leave the hotel he crawled out and quickly met his maker.

Haha that's awesome!!

Smoke, from hot electrical insulation on the power harness to the fuel pump on my 1991 Escort.

The smoke stopped when the Escort did. Or vice-versa.

Dog food. A mouse decided somewhere in the A/C system would make a good home and brought some of its favorite food with it...

After that, ice/snow. Nothing like trying to defrost a windshield in below zero temps while the defroster blows stuff inside the vehicle...
