Here we have my first post sry slow at this stuff, Cut open filter
Purolator Pride Classic L14610. No rips tears or problems
Filter used for 4,500 miles on my 2010 subaru legacy 2.5i
With GTX Castrol synBlend 5w30 from 4-25-15 till 8-23-15
I've always used purolator filters n cut apart about 10 since reading
On this site all my filters looked like new one had a small rip but no daylight
So filter working as expected All purolators. Purone bosch and now classic
Thanks for looking

Thanks for the cut and post. Do you have the date code by any chance? At the top of the can.

Yes it was F01G20E3

How about that clean cut? That what plumbers can do with a pipe cutter

F01G20E3 = made on 1-20-2015. Pleat spacing at the seam still looks too wide open for my likes. Otherwise, looks OK.

I have a friend running same filter I put on her car in June she's just about due
For a oil change. When I get her filter I'll cut it and post it up
I beleave these are good filters I've trusted them and will buy more
Currently trying a mobil 1 M110 with syn oil cause I had the filter sitting awhile
I'll be cutting that one too in the spring

Add four more pleats at the seam and I'll consider using them again...

Thanks for the C&P.

Guess not even a No tear filter will please some people
Guess they like the OCOD
or from some Ultra Leakers filter
Once seen a Napa gold Had to use a mircrosope it was so small

It's ur money ur car do what ever you want. I like running USA made filters
So. PUROLATOR AND NOW MOBIL 1 got my back

Another tear free purolator filter! Say it isn't so! How could this happen?

Thanks for the cut and post.

Purolator still does make a good filter. I wouldn't personally use a classic for 4.5k, but if that works for you rock on!

I really only use pureones and synthetics these days, but I'm glad to see that this filter worked out well for you. Welcome to BITOG!

FYI, Tearolator is German (Mann+Hummel), and M1 is Champs owned by United Components out of New Zealand.

Well, I would run a WIX. At least until the Mann+Hummel merger/buyout is done. Affina is selling off their auto-oil filters. Unfortunately I think US oil filters are disappearing.

-snip-

The filters are still MADE in this country, though. Almost every Purolator and Fram is US-made, and most Wix spin-ons are, too (their cartridges are made in Poland, and a few spin-ons are Mexican, now). So Wix is actually the LEAST likely to be made in the US. For example, the 51334 is made in Mexico.

Does it really matter where the CEO lives?

Do you like Hastings/Baldwin?
