Going to change out the filter in the Buick and I'm looking at a Duralas or microgard fuel filter, are there any major differences

You might ask a good shop how many fuel filter related problems they see. Fuel quality is greatly improved over the last 20 years and some filters can be a job to change. The new demand regulated fuel systems don't need a large filter because they move far less fuel through the system than the old shunt regulated systems with the return to the tank which pumped the fuel through the system over and over.

I'm sure you're right but I positively hate having one inside the tank. Just feels like an unnecessarily costly problem-waiting-to-happen.
