nyumski, having to add something with higher blends of biodiesel is internet folklore. I have run biodiesel blends from 5% to 15% for several years. No adverse affect and no sludge from bacteria setting up home in my fuel tanks. Over 20,000 gallons of the stuff per year and no adverse affects of any kind.
To be fair, higher blends of biodiesel need more treatment to prevent gelling in cold weather. But even then, it is not that bad of a problem. I run biodiesel blends year round in the Upper Midwest. The Schaeffer is a good product, but for lubricity, bio exceeds anything Schaeffer can add to the fuel. The Schaeffer does do a good job keeping injectors running good.
