Hi all,

Currently have a toyota which has had clicky cv for a few years now. CV Boot torn as well (see pic)
The noise hasn't been too loud so haven't been around to fix them. Travelled about 200,000km.
SHould I replace immediately? Or would I be okay for a while?

They will click for a long time. Unless grit has gotten in the joint and you are not getting any vibrations, I would repack it with the proper grease, pull the boot toward the end and re-clamp it.If it has been contaminated or vibrates, I would plan on replacing it, half shafts are not that expensive.

That doesn't look torn, that looks like the band has come off and boot has popped off its outer mating-surface. Had you caught that in time, you would have simply needed a new band, which would take seconds to install.

I'll bet this is an aftermarket shaft. Genuine Toyota shafts usually have a groove that the boot sits in (and which the band goes on top of).

I would replace immediately.
