Lots of folks were laid off when oil prices plummeted up here.
Price per litre of gas though remains relatively high. There is never a shortage of excuses for high prices. I have a buddy who works at the refinery and has essentially been brainwashed by this superiors and tow the company line on justifying high prices.
Here it's $1.08/L which works out to $4.10 per gallon in Canadian dollars.
I was visiting family in Indiana yesterday and gas is almost always cheaper there so I normally wait until I get there to fill up -- but for the first time in a long time, I actually saved 10-cents/gallon by filling up before I left -- $2.49 at a Speedway in the west suburbs of Chicago vs. $2.59-$2.69 in Indiana.
