Hey everyone my 14 focus has had this issue where when still or going slow the strut mount will make an audible click/pop noise when turning the wheel. The dealerships 2 havent been able to make it stop. I picked it up Tuesday and the left side was quiet as it was just worked on right side was still noisy. Fast forward ro today a sway bar link was loose and popping so dealership tightened that up and now the strut mount is clicking again. One shouldn't effect the other but the noise is definitely from the mount area. The bearings have both been replaced what would cause this issue continually. Has anyone ever seen repeats like this? Im a mechanic and i am lost on it so i am trying to gain perspective . Thanks everyone

Is it when turning the wheel moving or when stopped? I'd think that if it can be duplicated while stopped it would be easy to pinpoint, one person in the car turning the wheel and another listening and feeling under the hood

You know Merk, I'm a little ashamed it took me about 10 seconds to realize what you were referencing to LOL. I feel so stupid.

Yea you can hear it when stopped. The noise is from both strut bearings and mounts. But if you replace them the noise comes back a few days later.......why?lol it doesn't make sense. And yes its definitely a lemon but convincing ford or a lawyer of that proves a different story.

Welcome to todays new cars..Soon you will be only an advocate for "old" cars.Heck if they lasted 10,15,20 years they have to be good...right?

Plenty of garbage built with old cars also. They are simply in the junkyard or converted into metal trinkets made aboard.

All makes have problem children, however the vast majority of vehicles irrelevant to brand go relatively problem free for owners. Some into elder years. Just like seeing a Ford Escort occasionally(rare I know) from 20 years ago you will see Ford Focus like OP 20 years from now.

My parents for 40 years+ and myself 20 years have yet to have a problem vehicle owning Jeep, AMC, Subaru, Honda/Acura and Toyota. They all worked trouble free for 10-15years and 200k miles before sold to another owner or scrap yard.

ITS FIXED!!!!!! .....i think. Lol
I took it all apart and found the spring was about 2 inch from being clocked perfectly and the bearings themselves had been iver tightened and when you do that the grease gets pushed out and to the side of the bearing cage...alot of times you can get away with that but not in my case. I put new grease in the bearings reinstalled it all and shes quiet as can be and hopefully it stays like that...
