Any updates on Jared Fogle? (Subway guy)

So far the FBI has said nothing. They would know by now from his computers. This guy was railroaded by somebody who he was associated with.

There is no evidence that has been revealed, none that he was ever involved in a crime.

Now the press has made him sound like a deviant because he enjoyed hobbies like a lot of men do.

I think it is absurd that he has not been charged, or even accused of a crime, but yet his life is essentially ruined.

You are right-his life is ruined. And he hasn't been charged with a crime.

He will probably change his name and get a regular 8 to 5 job like many on this board have.

His life as a spokesman FOR ANYBODY is over.

These types of charges and trials should be private/sealed until a conviction or guilty plea.

Even if he gets it all expunged, his life is still over. He may be able to sue depending on circumstances.

Some posters here thought that police had a search warrant of his house that means he was guilty. If he was innocent then police didn't asking for a search warrant.

What happened to "innocent until proven guilty" ?

I think they found some texts between him and a 16 year old girl. And some texts bragging about his time with said girl.

But again, that's proof of nothing.

There was a time when the FBI would not take action until they had a valid and confirmed reason, such as a valid complaint, or witness. I'd like to hope they still behave in this manner. However, I'm afraid that today, simple association is enough to warrant probable cause.

You are exactly right. In today's society, especially with the 24 hour news cycle, you are guilty until proven innocent. Even if found innocent, your life is down the drain.

If 16 is the legal age of consent then it is ok if both the man and woman are willing. I would also say that the age of the man is relevant when calling it sick sick sick as well.

Our society has been sex crazy since the 70's. I long ago stopped caring about what others do. If a 16 year old wants to do it so what. As long as that is the legal age of consent I could care less if the other person is 60. That is their business. Kids are doing it at 10-12 these days so 16 doesn't bother me.

It looks like JF may have some "issues" but I have not seen anything reported that he has done that is a crime. The 16 year old girl was of legal age to consent so no crime there. The child porn the FBI found was for someone he knew or worked for him but none was found in his possession so no crime there. He actually cooperated with the FBI and tried to help.

People hear stuff on the news and then just start making wild assumptions. It is a shame what our country has become.

So you are Ok with a 40 year old guy having sex with your 16 year old daughter / grand daughter ?

Some people are morally bankrupt if they see no problem with a 40 year old guy having sex with a teenage girl.

BTW, at 16 she is not an adult.

Um, he paid her and tried to have her advertise on Craigslist so he could watch. It's called prostitution I think and is sort of illegal. While I know everything is not black and white and there are various shades of gray (no pun, really), his actions are completely indefensible and are nothing short of a creepy old man exploiting a minor...
