Ok so I know we call the regular frams Orange cans of death because well they're garbage. But since basically everyone's in agreience that the ultras are awesome. Can we call them........gold cans of glory!?

Yeah, yeah, same old story. Fram, Castrol are junk. PYB, Purolator are best.
All that's missing now is the story how well one sleeps at night using one vs the other.
While the orange Fram oil filters may or may not be the best, is there any data to support this other than "BITOG folks cut them open and proclaim they are junk"?

The last orange can I cut open had around 8k miles on it and it looked great. There is nothing wrong with any Fram filter IMO

Fram says 15K but the fine print on all of the filters says. Follow recommended change intervals as noted in your owner's manual. So if you go 15K and your manual says 5K are you SOL if you have a failure?

Maybe technically yes, but that would be true with whatever filter you are using in that case. So don't use one that you know might not be good quality.
