If you had to choose one of these (and had a vehicle that specd a 50wt),which would it be and why, price of both being the same.

Well, it kinda depends on the application.

The VSP is a thick 50. Napa is a thin 50.

They both have similar additive packages.

^^Sorry,I took too long to edit.

To satisfy my curiosity I emailed Valvone. I know, old news haha :p......

Is Napa Ashland synthetic motor oil the same oil as Valvoline Synpower? Thanks!

Valvoline produces oil for many private label companies as well as factory fill for engine manufacturers around the world. We don't know which container it is going in when we produce the oil so the answer is yes it is the same. All of our oils exceed the current API specifications and are developed with the best available base stock and additive package in the industry.

either way, valvoline makes a good product, Napa oil being a valvoline product by default is also good... I'd trust them both, Napa is cheaper by at least half right now so I'd go with them. Why pay for Valvoline's extra marketing when you can get the same oil for cheaper?
It's a no brainer to me.

Do you use the conventional or synthetic VR1?
