Hi all,

Pennasol Super Pace 5w40 + 2ml/l ZDDPlus, 8700km, on a 2003 Huyndai Santa Fe, with the 4cyl 2.4l, manual transmission, 4x4. 50% short trips, 50% road/highway.

TAN is high, like always with Pennasol... Recycled oil...

Note: the first UOA was done when I bought the car, and based on the mileage given by the previous owner, to much optimistic...

TBN was increased by additive, so I would not rely on these numbers too much. TAN could be affected too, but I am not sure here. The report is not bad, IMO. Did you make up oil?

I have several Pennasol oils UOA on several cars, it is always the same, the TAN beguin at 4/4.5 on virgin, and raise to 7/8 after 10 000km, and crossover the TBN. So it is quite impossible to raise the OCI even with a high TBN left.

These are cheap oils, with good add pack and good metal results, but too much sensitive to oxydation. I think because the base is a recycled.

Should be reserved for 1 year OCI with low mileage...
