So Caterham Blend is 50/50 of M1 0W-40 and Toyota 0w-20

But lets have a Caterham Blend+ of 50/50:
M1 0W-40
Toyota 0w-20
Plus 1 ounces of Liqui Moly CeraTec per quart

Or does Toyota 0w20 cover the large Moly content?

Here is what caterham said about the matter in a previous thread

Mixing two multi-grade engine oils especially of different brands is not a best practice, and has been discussed to death on BITOG.
Blending a multi-grade with a mono-grade of the same brand should bring predicitable results, but I would check first with the oil company if I had any doubts to a possible antagonstic additive problem.

The approximate result of blending 1640 and M1 0W40 together is not a fool's errand, like the TGMO/M1 "Caterham" affair, with the following:

40c 98
100C 14.0
HTHS >4.0
SA 1.35
TBN 11.3
ZDDP >1400
Phos >1200
Flash >240C

The above looks like a 10W40 give or take.
Another predictable option would be to blend 0W40 and either 1630 or 1330 together.

The question remains, does blending two multi-grade engine oils give predictable results, including NOACK and sustained performance over the OCI interval (ageing)?

Like it or not, (or like me or not) my blend will more likely result in an oil that will lubricate and protect the engine, than the 0W20/0W40 blend will.

For more on this subject see "VII are not bad" in the automotive gasoline threads.
What is the objective of your blend?
Is there a finished product that closely matches your blend?

For fun, I mocked up what should either be a 5W20 or 10W20, shear stable medium saps,
engine oil, using 60% Duron 0W30 XL (syn blend) and 40% Duron SAE 10W mono-grade.
I have blended Duron single grades and mono-grades and tested them in service.
I have a reasonable assumption that this blend is safe.
I would not put home brew, or recommend one in someone else's vehicle.
In other words, when you mix engine oils, your on your own.

The approximate results of the above would cost under $6.00/L

40C 53
100C 150C >2.9
SA >1.1
TBN >8.6
Phos>1100
ZDDP>1200

From my understanding our fellow Canadian friends use/d the "CATERHAM blend" since M1 0w30 wasn't available at the time. Now it is

WHAT is Mobil 1640??
