I'd just go with the 0w-40 and be done with it up in Canada.

EFO is the product code for the 0w-40 Euro version.

Why would he want to use the full SAPS Euro version as opposed to the new Signature Series 0W-40? To save money?

Oils meeting and approved to Euro oil specs generally favor or focus on protection more than anything else. Plus, Amsoil's guy on the site recommended it.

Bumping this back up. Been a while since I last posted in here. Not a whole lot has changed. Did a few more oil changes with Amsoil SS 5W30 and saw the same silver numbers. Decided to switch the Amsoil 5W40 Euro as recommended before and since then silver and copper have started going up. I missed one analysis before my latest one so i'm not sure what the results would have been.

In the latest report it seems that both silver and copper are starting to make their way up. Copper shot up quite a bit between the two reports and it has me worried. I'll be doing another report at 4000 kms and then switching to Motul 5W40 to see how that will be in the engine.

Silver is a little higher, and copper really shot up. We've touched on silver before, but copper shows bearing wear too. Basically, the first layer of the bearing is silver and copper is the next layer under that. You mentioned this run only included daily driving, so we are hard pressed to say why metals changed. If you have an oil pressure gauge, keep an eye out for low oil pressure and listen for knocking sounds. Silicon remains high, but that's been the case for a while so excess dirt doesn't seem like a large factor here. Try just ~4000 kms next time.

Car has been just a daily driver for the past two years with 0 track time. Currently on stage 2 with WMI as of 40,000 kms. Oil pressure has not changed since new and no knocking sounds. Car feels great aside from the wear metals. I'm wondering if the copper might be coming from the turbo as it is running quite a bit of boost.
