I use Mystik JT6 hi-temp red grease for the hubs (with disc brakes) on my boat trailer.
I had an issue with two calipers hanging up last week. One hub was at about 180° the other was about 200°. Normal is about 125.
This all happened in about 3 miles from the house to the gas station,so they weren't at these temps for a prolonged period.
The grease currently in the hubs is from a fresh re-pack about a month ago.
The Mystik grease has a dropping point of 550° and a working range of -10° to 325°.
The brakes are fixed, and I'm wondering if the grease in the hubs is fine or I need to re-pack?
From the specs on the grease I was well under any danger zone.
