Hi I bought a 2010 Chevy Cobalt about a year ago. The car has rebuilt title. Yesterday the check engine light went on and I went to get it checked out at Oreilles and P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction code spat out. Is there anyone that can help me figure out how to fix this? I am currently a student and was hoping it is something that I can fix myself since student loans are not cheap these days.

It is automatic.

Thank you in advance.

No issues with starting or anything battery related? Sometimes a bad battery will make random codes go on.

There is probably another code that is probably manufacturer specific. How does it shift? Any problems or recent repairs?
if the car was rebuilt then i would suspect possible electrical connection issues, check all the plugs for water of looseness and the TCM relay if t has one.
