and I assume you use Microsoft OS, which comes with NSA backdoor as well?

For linux and MAC users, you get the heartbleed/shellshock vuln which is essentially a backdoor to those who exploit it.

The world is really small the way I see it. And unless you have something that prove dangerous in terms of national security (religion-related, crime such as kitty porn peddophilia, sensitive information that is beneficial to those secular developing countries, etc. , otherwise: the likeliness of them triggering the backdoor to spy on you is....well...minimal.

I don't have any sensitive information to begin with, so spy me for nothing.

afterall: when it comes to internet, it's the latest frontier and everyone is always after someone or something.

If you don't want to be spy on, don't use computer. Don't use AV, and most definitely, don't use internet.

There you have it! Safe, at last.

Q.

p.s. commercial OS such as Mac OSX and Windows sold in china already came with backdoors, as per CCP govt demanded backdoor installed on all OS sold in china before they (Microsoft, Apple) are allowed to keep their market share in China. CCP govt uses these backdoors to spy on political rivals, dissidants, etc. and they have been doing so for years. Similarly, their cellphones have backdoors for their secret police to spy on.

Also: those cheepie chinese made TP-link wireless gamer router has backdoors as well; ditto with many AVs that we researched in our labs.

Good luck finding one w/o backdoor.

I've used Norton Internet Security, AVG Internet Security and they both sucked. I have used Avast Internet Security for past 5yrs or better with no problems at all. I run Malwarebytes Pro with it also. Avast Free is good also. It just don't have the firewall on the free one. Trend Micro is real good I hear also. I've herd good things about the Kapersky to. The Avast Forum is very helpful also it you do have problems. Just remember whatever you use if it dont have a firewall make sure windows firewall is on and if you dont have Malwarebytes Pro make sure Windows defender is on also.

I am not entirely sure what the "Chinese government procurement regulations" mentioned on this page relate to; but at least the OS is open source: http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/ubuntu-kylin and therefore any "doors" are subject to examination. It need not be a "back" door of any sort if your gov't openly tells you they have the right - and intention - to spy on you.

I have read here and there that the central gov't in China will be migrating to a home-grown Linux in the next few years.

Ive had great luck using the free Avast antivirus along with Malwarebytes and Superantispyware. I obviously leave the AV on all the time, but I try to run malwarebytes and superAS once a week. Then I run CCleaner every few weeks to catch anything else that I dont need.

I also use Revo uninstaller to uninstall programs. It takes out all the residual files that the normal uninstaller leaves behind.
