Look like they put more media in them to prevent the wide space issue at the seam, they should be tear free if they aren't going all made that good.

To see how it's constructed especially since Purolator filters have been having major issues with large gaps at the metal crimp causing tears.

It is not a bad looking filter.

My issue with it is that it is $7.00 and has a nitrile ADBV (at least it is black).

It appears the equivalent TG is slightly less money and a XG is about two bucks more.

Not, in my opinion, a good value.

I do not like the lack of flats either.

Since they do not appear make one for anything I own, guess it does not matter much what I think.

I think this one fits later model GM.

Looks like it's a Duramax oil filter.
I like that they're using the string again.
Can anyone decode the build date ?

Agreed; the bypass valve has Purolator written all over it.

^ This, string and all!!

This is how Puro used to make filters. Looks beautiful! Now let's see what it looks like after a solid OCI.

it's a Purolator. Same date code format, besides the looks.

I would call it pretty even:

So it's official, purolator knows exactly how to make a perfectly pleated filter. So there is no excuse for the garbage they have produced in the recent past.
