Working in your home shop, when painting, gluing stripping, Duracoating sanding, dust, Bondo fiberglass work, or welding galvanized metals.

How would do you choose the correct application, and WHY? A rated respirator, or a box fan/High velocity fan pulling the fumes downwind?

If it's something like paint, a paint-rated respirator is my choice. A fan might not be appropriate if the fumes are at all flammable. If it's something else that a P95 respirator can't handle, another appropriate respirator will be used. A fan or opening the garage doors to make a cross-draft happens when the air doesn't need to be still.

Appropriate personal protective equipment doesn't need a why.

Pretty hard to beat a air supplied respirator. I spent $450 on one for painting, that I never did much of yet, but it is well worth the investment regardless! Priceless.
