I'll be removing and reinstalling some solenoids on a GM 4L60E and if the o-rings cannot be reused, will simple hardware store o-rings will be suitable for ATF or will I need to get Viton o-rings?
Buna-N or Viton O-rings for AT solenoid seals

The solenoids are known to fail. While you have it a part why not install new? A complete kit is less than $200.
Second vote for Buna-n is fine.
