Supplementing my 1500 mile review with quick comment on wet weather performance, since I did not have the opportunity to test this in the first 1500.

Now have ~2k on the tires and in the last two weeks have been hit hard with a few thunderstorms, one which caused a flash flood alert, and which I drove through.

In a word the wet weather performance has been excellent. I tried to get the tires to slip on off and on-ramps to no avail, no hydroplaning through deeper puddles, and the traction was confidence inspiring.

I'd say the trade-off of higher noise levels at lower speeds with the wet weather performance, comfort, and general handling characteristics is worth it.

I wouldn't mind getting a set of these installed on the Matrix, 205-55-16 H rated. Esp if there's a rebate going right now.

Had a set installed on my dad's Camry last November for $489 out the door including sales tax and lifetime rotations.

Some will say only the best Michelin is suitable for their cars, anything else is garbage.

I'm in the other boat, I don't expect best tires for cheap but I think there are good tires for reasonable cost and they may suit your driving style, such as this RT43 is a good math for your Accord and your driving needs.

Yes. Rt43 $410. Popular brand tire. $550. Came on. I am already saved $140. My tires are about 1000 miles. I am pretty sure I will get 55k from rt43.

Rt43 is very quiet, responsive, and give you good gas mileage. I have finished 3 fuel up, mostly highway, 29 psi on my Camry. 31.39 mpg, 30.93 mpg, 30.73 mpg.

3.0 Auto? What speed on the highway? 3.0 is only rated for 26. I understand that can be beat but I would think you would have to be in a very flat area and not exceeding 60.

Nope, my brother has a 1996 Lexus ES300 with the 3.0L V6 and he followed me from Montana to Phoenix last summer. We did 80 mph the whole time and there's lots of hills and mountains in between. It got 28-28.5 mpg.

I was driving my 1997 Camry with the 2.2L (auto) at 80 mph and got 33 mpg average. It's only rated for 28 mpg. Best tank was 36.72 mpg.

Yes sir. 31.39, 30.93, 30.73, 31.38, 32.05 mpg. 1mz-fe engine. Mostly highwY 98%. I don't use AC. I watch my speed 60-65 mph, cruise control when I have a chance. I am using chevron octane 87, 29 psi tire, Mobil super 5000 motor oil.

I can now say rt43 is good fuel saving tires. Any questions, just ask me.

Do you have records from similar conditions with previous tires and what were they? (e.g. how much of your result is your efficient driving style and how much is the tires- I would figure 20% the tires at best)

I see a lot more Michelin bashing here on BITOG lately.

I'm not on the RT43 bandwagon. The Continental TrueContact and PureContact are better tires all around, and if carefully shopped can cost not much more than the RT43. The RT43 only takes the value crown (value meaning "cheaper").

One does not expect cheaper brand (General) to have better tires from premium brand (Continental) when both have the same parent company (Continenta).

That would be strange.
