When I did I noticed a whining sound that could have been the gearbox or clutch.
And on turning the wheel another noise from the electric power steering pump.
The wife was happily driving it and hadn't noticed the noises.
But whem a Rwnault gets to be nearly 10yrs old and needs significant work then it is time to bail imho.
As you will never get that money back at sale time and once a car starts giving problems it is unlikely to improve.
We got our moneys worth many times over.
We had put over 100k on it in 6yrs.
Though I will admit that I actually preferred the Clio round town when compared to the 116D, however away from the urban drudge the BMW is far superior.
If it has an autobox it would be much nicer to drive in town.
