Which mtx is better for 6F35 swap?

Since the 6F35 in my 2012 Ford Fusion V6 3.0 FWD seems to be failing, I am considering doing a transmission swap.

5-speed A65M-R (V6) manual is used in the 1st gen Mazda6 with the same CD3 platform and V6 3.0 engine.

6-speed Mazda G6M manual is used 2012 Ford Fusion I4 FWD. Since 6F35 is also used in cars with I4 FWD. I think G6M manual should be able to be used in Fusions with V6 3.0 engine.

Can anyone with more knowledge shed some light on this? Considering cost, degree of difficulty, robustness, gear ratios, which one of these two is better? Is there an even better choice?

The transmission is on the drivers side and in this car I think you have to change the steering column, the steering box and linkage along with some of the exhaust system, brake lines and plumbing for the ABS and stability sensors.

Then there is going to be some custom fabrication for the left side motor/transmission mount and various other structures involved in the crumple zone sheet metal. And all this before you touch the transmission swap and add the hydraulics for the clutch linkage and change the left side half shaft.

And don't forget to reroute the lower return hose for the radiator.

And if you're ever in an accident you car is not certified crash safe in case one of your passengers has some medical bills and an attorney.

In other words, if you must have a manual transmission, and I agree with you, if it's a modern car buy a different car.

I spent lots of time and money doing mods on the car, and the car also has lots of sentimental value to me. I really don't want to get rid of it just because of a sloppy transmission.

I saw several 2012 Ford Fusions with manual transmission nearby. If I buy one for the project. Is it easier to just swap the transmission, or is it better swap the whole powertrain. If it can be done, I will just put the 6f35 in the donor car, and then sell it.

While mostly people say it's very complicated to do an atx to mtx swap, even between cars of the same model year, I found that one person claimed that it's no so difficult, though he was talking about mazda6. Here is an excerpt from his post.

"1.change to MTX ecu, no need for TCM
2.get the gauge cluster and ignition switch from the donor car
3. tranny
4. clutch slave and lines
5. clutch and flywheel
6. pedal assembly
7. axles (which may or may not have to be hybrid'd between the ATX and MTX cv)
8. may need the harness if donor car is different year, like if your car is an 03-05, but the donor is 06-08. may need the ecu harness

looks like a typical swap to me outside the needing the cluster and ignition switch or you can just get a reflash from the dealer. just like a swap on an escort that ive done many times

how is it cheaper to buy an MTX whole car than buying 2k-3k in parts? "

I just came up with a better idea. Since Mazdaspeed 6s are on the same platform, and they came with turbo and manual transmission from factory, why can't I just buy a wrecked Mazdaspeed 6 with all the parts needed and swap the powertrain and even suspension in. I saw some online with not too high mileage, and the listed price is around $3k. I can use SJB of Fusion to control the electronics that are not related to powertrain, and use ECU and other control modules from Mazdaspeed 6. The stock setup of Mazdaspeed 6s is already better than Fusion V6 3.0, and there are still more aftermarket upgrade options, like products of CorkSport.
