The oils recommended back in the day no longer exist. And the new ones that replace them, in multi grade versions, do not have the problems that the old style multigrade had. 20W/50 would be an excellent choice for run in. If you do a lot of riding in temps much over 100, I might consider 20W/60. But....You will be the weak link, in those temps. DAMHIK.
