I have an old Buick Estate Wagon with the vinyl wood grain. I'm needing help with what I can use on the siding to help protect it in the Houston Weather. The car has been garage kept since 1988 and the paneling is original.

Any ideas?

My Dad always had wood grained station wagons when I was a kid. He used to wax the panels with a paste wax, but always had a problem with them turning "milky" after a while.

I'm no expert, but I would think that a preservative product such as 303 Aerospace Protectant might be better suited to this task. I use it on the vinyl top of my Mazda Miata, which is also made of vinyl. It's not cheap, but it seems to work well.

Thanks for the replies. Here is a pic of it

I waxed it today with DG105 and the paint looks great. The interior is also in good shape. Just needs some seals and weatherstripping replaced.
