Kawasaki 16097-003 / 16097-007 to a Napa gold filter ? application is my 2015 Kawasaki Teryx 800cc 4 seater. I see no logical reason to buy "power sports" filters at $12-15 a pop when automotive filters work just fine.

please and thanks for a cross reference.

I used the link and yes it worked (thank you) however it of course directed me to the $12 power sports filters. Ive used standard car filters on atv's, mower's, motorcycle's etc forever with no ill effects. so im looking for the cross reference (standard automotive $5 filters) with the same threading.. to switch from the ubber expensive power sports filters to standard Napa gold automotive filters.

(sorry I should have been more specific)

From teryxhq forum:
oil filter is 16097-003. I have cross referenced to a few others
Fram ph6017a
Wix 51358
Napa 1358

One person uses Mobil M1-108 also.

I would check the specs out closely, but everyone agrees that the filter is about half the price of the Kawasaki branded one. I could not get the Wix cross reference to come up with these answers.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate the post, However the Napa 1358 is a power sports filter $11-$12 bucks each. that's close to Kawasaki's price at around $14 I believe. Ill buy the Napa and take the $2-$3 saving. Surely there is a standard Napa Filter that cross references ??

however the Fram filter is only $5 that wix filter is $10 The Napa is $11 and the Kawasaki is $14-$15 obviously all these filters are going to fall under the same spec im sure..

I think you have to do it kind of the old fashioned way. Using the dimensions and specs from Napa's 1356 filter, I found that the Purolater PL14610 is very close.

That cross cross referenced back to the NAPA 41356, 31356, 21356. The height dimension is a little taller (3.4" vs 2.78"). The gasket and other dimensions look very close.

That NAPA 1365 might be a good match, difference is that it's .2" shorter. Personally, if you have the headroom, I'd be inclined to go with the slightly longer x1356 filters. Either way, you'll be saving over the power sports model!

Don't forget to stack on the $12 online rebate for the Mobil oil too!

awesome response ! I stopped and chatted up my friend at Thompsons motorsports here in Terre Haute IN, he set me up with a Kawasaki genuine filter for $9 Lucas front diff gear oil (I don't like lucas oils) But for a 50 hour till the next interval ill use it, and Kawasaki rear diff fluid. He discounted everthing. Now that I have a filter in hand im going to go to Napa and compare just to be sure. Clearly the Fram is the cheapest, are we having good luck with Frams now ? OCOD ???
Thnaks so much for the the list !!
