The owners manual says rotate front to back on the same side, the stock tires are just regular all season not directional or anything. Is this correct? I'm used to getting the tires moving to all points of the car.

I would do what the manual says ......
The owner manual makes it easy to understand. You don't have to follow the front to rear rotation for non-directional tires according to owner manual, you can rotate according to front wheel drive pattern, so that after 4 rotations any tire will be all corners of the car which is much better than just front and rear of the same side.
