Change o2 sensor?

on my 2004 vw, the o2 sensors were frozen on badly. After wailing on it with cheater pipe, tapping with hammer, hitting it with penetrating oil overnight etc, still wouldn't budge. I then went and bought one of those mini-butane torches and the heat is what finally helped it break loose.

Wish I would have used the heat all along, but first time for everything.

Had time to change my o2 sensor today. It came off without any fight. Happy to find out OEM unit is Denso, so im glad i bought the denso unit. This new one looks identical except that the wiring is slightly longer.
Here is the procedure that i used to replace the o2 sensor and for the ecu to re-learn all the parameters:
1) drove the car to regular temps
2) shut off car and installed new o2 sensor
3) Turn on the car again to let it reach normal temps again and shut off
4) Disconnected battery to let ECU reset
5) Let it idle for 10 minutes to re-learn everything and then shut off

Will report back to see if MPG has increased

No need for all that...

Engine cold, disconnect battery, change sensor, reconnect battery, drive as normal...
