Hi, does anybody knows why this oil is just for gasoline engines only? What could happen if it's loaded on a modern turbo diesel engine such as vw tdi?
Thanks in advance

GF5 is a fuel economy oil, with a low HTHS, and a low sulfated ash level for protection of exhaust gas treatment devices.

GF5 is specifically targetted at petrol engine fuel economy.

Some GF-5 oils carry API CF so its suitable for a CF application. In reality it's never going to perform well in a late model light duty diesel. ACEA C2 would be the closest spec to GF-5 that combines good diesel performance. The anti wear performance is likely OK for many applications as many light diesel are not that different to their gasoline counterparts but GF-5 is not designed to cope with the soot and the associated problems, thickening, piston deposits, sludge.
