Wasn't there a type of glassware from the 60s that had Radon in it? I think this glassware would glow green under a UV light.

Yeah, looks like the pain used on something fluoresces under uv light.

Am I missing something? Are we supposed to guess what it is in normal light? Looks like it'd be a leaf, or possibly a pair of lips, but I'm thinking a leaf.

I think it's a horseshoe crab exoskeleton. Funny how that just came to me a couple of hours after seeing the photo. Vaguely remember something about those guys fluorescing under UV.

Very close...there was an old green/yellow glassware produced early last century, called "depression glass".

Was doped with Uranium to the tune of 2-20%, which makes it flourescent under black light.

I've got a couple of pieces, only because I find them fascinating.

It's an old ashtray which I'm going to use to hold paperclips and the like.

Very cool! Would love to have some of this stuff just for bragging rights. Kind of makes you wonder what we do today that will be considered insane in 100 years, Chemotherapy anyone?

crinkles, using this app
https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/radioactivitycounter/id464004677?mt=8

shows about 0.02uG/hr above background on either that, or the piece that I found for a workmate today.

The detector while not WHandS accurate does move off target similarly to real monitors that I've used, and returns to background thereafter.

Tombstone Arizona was a little warmer than most places I've found.
