RP HPS 10w40 starts out at 13.6 cSt @100C, and this sample sheared down to 11.44 cSt. That's about 16%, and is well into being a 30-weight. I've seen other samples of RP that sheared a lot, but some that didn't. Since RP doesn't publish HTHS values, I don't use their motor oils.
I think the RL 10w40 will do better on shear. From my experience with RL, the Kinematic Viscosity actually increases with use.
