Drained the mix of 2qts Valvoline syn 20w50 and 1qt Valvoline syn 10w40 (all MC oil)


Put in 1qt M1 15w50 and 2qts M1 V Twin 20w50.

My 2013 Yamaha Road Star 1700 . At 6300 miles 4 qts. Valvoline 20w-50 cycle oil non-synthetic . Changed at 2000 miles of use.Also a Microguard filter from O`Reillys .

My 07 Yamaha FZ1 was due for an oil change (but I left the Wix 51358 oil filter in for another OCI).

In: Repsol Racing 10W50

I scored the Repsol oil at work for a screaming $2 per quart so I couldn't pass it up. Also decided to experiment by adding 2 oz. of MoS2 from Liqui Moly to see if the engine operated or shifted more smoothly; but haven't noticed any immediate changes (at least it was a cheap experiment to see if it was worth the hype and testimonials here on BITOG).

Out: Castrol Actevo Part Syn. 10W40 and a HiFlo 204 oil filter.

In: Golden Spectro Part Syn. 10W40 and a HiFlo 401 oil filter.

OCI Mileage/Duration: App. 3,300 miles and 14 months of use

I don't normally use either Castrol or Golden Spectro but I received the oil for free from work so I figured I'd test them out.

Out: Whatever the dealer put in it when I bought it. And a HiFlo filter is being removed (Had to remove the HD one when I installed an oil cooler, installed a new HF one for the heck of it).

In: Mobil 1 15W-50, and another HiFlo filter.
