1989 Chevy S10 for $800. Good buy?

It wasn't for me, but a friend. He decided to pass on the truck due to it not being inspected and scared of what it could cost him to get it inspected for the year.
We did check it out and I drove it though. The truck was in pretty good shape. Drove fine, and shifted well for having unknown previous maintenance. The kid that was selling it didn't seem to know much but it seemed the original owner kept it in good running order most of its life. The seller only had the vehicle for about 18 months.
He said he would go as low as $650 since he needed it gone but also mentioned how he had a bunch of people looking to buy. I told him to keep it at the $800 and not to go lower. Definitely worth the money IMO.

Holy cow. I can't believe it wasn't gone already. I'm not sure your friend is going to find a more solid vehicle for the money.
Wasn't exactly in the market, more an impulsive trip on his CL find. His money so I can't really do much about it. I'm sure it was gone by the next day.
