GM Series II SC 3800 Valve Cover Gasket R&R

These two photos indicate the rear valve cover was leaking. Front and rear valve cover gaskets were replaced along with coolant elbows. The following items were required to be removed or loosened to access to the change: Shut off climate control system;disconnect battery and remove; take serpentine and supercharger belts off their routes via tensioners;remove connections to alternator then remove alternator; other connections to sensors; remove ignition coil; drop coolant where lower hose is connected to the water pump; remove tensioners; might as well replace the coolant elbows; ensure all old elbow parts are removed. Remove spark plug wires(get them out of the way);loosen engine hoist bracket. Have at it.

And don't mix up the long and short alternator mounting bolts. LOL
I bought one of these for cheap a few years back because it had a bad oil leak. The long bolt was right into the rear valve cover.
