The filter leaked the whole time it was on. Found out the gasket was badly cut, and the drain back valve was so hard, I doubt it worked. Was VAl HM, on the turbo cruiser in my sig. Ran for 3,000 miles.
Would the turbo have anything to do with the ADBV prematurely stiffening? I am betting it gets pretty hot pretty quick.. seeing how the pleats are so straight.
On a side note, you should have visually inspected the filter (and gasket) before installation.

Maybe, turbos are hard on oil, filters everything. But, I felt the quality was not there on the filter, in the beginning. Yep, the cruiser burns me every time I do an oil change, get hot quick and stays hot. I have a Mobil 1 cut open with straight pleats. I learned a lesson after that, about the gaskets.

The media looks great but it has the wrong bypass valve and adbv for a pure one.
If it was a Mopar, it has the correct parts. I wasn't impressed with the MO-090 that came on my XJ when I bought it, ADBV wouldn't stop anything, replaced it with a FL400S (& now an XG8A Ultra).

That was my immediate thought too. The Puro is cut open.
The Pureone was also cut open. There is another post by me, with it posted. I have no idea was the number is, already trashed it. Its the long version for PT cruisers.
