Limited Product availability + poor distribution + no marketing + no competitive pricing = out of business. They should have folded long ago.

Some people would site redline as an example of how small companies can survive like Amsoil has. But lets be realistic, no one uses redline. Their market share is small and their following is cult like at best. If you dont get into big box retailers or chains like autozone, oreillys, pep boys, etc. your either going under or losing billions in revenue.

And lets remember that small oil companies CAN compete with the giants like SOPUS, XOM etc. Royal Purple (a local business in my area) started off as a small batch plant and a family run business (Heck, the owner of RP and I used to go the same gym) and went on to become a nationally available high quality motor oil. Now you can find it at any retailer (large or small) and it is cometitively priced with other top shelf synthetics. No MLM garbage, no mail order, just good oil on the shelf ready for consumption.

Sorry to say it but what a waste of a good oil doing only 5406 miles on it.
That oil can do 15 000 miles very easy even under severe conditions.
I myself have done several 15 000 mile plus oil changes on these Amsoil oil products.

According to Amsoil and GM, when using E85, oil must be changed at the manufacture's recommended oil change interval. According to my oil life monitor I had 22% oil life left. From what I'm seeing along with my application of mainly driving interstate 70 miles a day, I'm sure I could go 10,000 or 15,000 or more easily. For now I will keep at the recommended oil change intervals for warranty purposes.

I thought that was high as well until I looked at numerous other oil samples done on GM 5.3 engines. Seems like all have high copper, some over a 100 ppm. Must be a GM thing.

Stick with the SS. It is a great oil. Blackstone should tell you how many miles would be best on that oil. If we are going to pay them for analysis, we should follow their advice!

GM love to use a lot of copper in their engines, mostly in the form of brass. High copper is normal for a GM engine. My 2013 5.3L and my 2015 6.0L have shown high copper. It settles down over time.
