Tec Select T-48(CUT OPEN)

Good afternoon again. Here is a Tec Select T-48 filter from my stepbrothers Jeep Compass (2013). 5,509 miles with unknown oil. No tears but notice the wide pleats near metal crimp. Put a Parts Master filter and some QSGB 5w30 in. Any questions ask. Sorry about any blurry pics also.

That uneven/wide pleating is why some filters tear. It puts unnecessary pressure on those few pleats that exist near the seam.

It was on that tight and my filter wrench did that to it! ;(

Been there and done that. Some places seem to want to install the oil filter and drain plug with an air wrench or breaker bar

. That's why I try to do my own oil changes. I know it won't leak and I can remove the filter and drain plug with reasonable effort.
