Last oil change, I pulled a filter with bends near the bottom of the folds. It went in as a perfectly-straight media WIX cartridge. Is this the result of over-torquing the cap, or is it a reason to only buy OEM for my application? This is from the 3.6 Pentastar in my 2012 WK2 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Thanks for any input. This is my first cartridge-filter engine, and I have not yet had time to educate myself on the importance of the media folds staying straight.
Edit: Sorry, didn't know I couldn't directly enter a photo to my post. It is not hosted anywhere, so I can't link to it. I also can't delete this post anymore. So if anyone can comment, generally, I would appreciate it.
