Glider Spin

Why not? Its just a plane with no engine.

IIRC instructors make you do spin recovery quite early in training, perhaps for safety reasons, but maybe just for the entertainment value.

Do they usually teach it by rolling inverted and pushing the stick foward?

I just hadn't thought of gliders as being that aerobatic.

Seeing those long wings whip around makes me nervous, but they're sturdier than I give them credit for.

I always thought soaring would be a neat avocation. As a young man, I read the book "Once Upon a Thermal" by **** Wolters and it left an impression on me. Even went up in a glider a couple of times. Ah well, it was not to be.
