I have tried searching different ways, with not real luck. Is Pennzoil High Mileage the same formula as QS Defy?

Yea quaker state is for older car, I think its still SL rated.
Pennzoil is for newer cars, SN rated.

Defy has more Zinc/Boron and PHM has more Moly and higher TBN. AGree the PHM is for "newer" high mileage vehicles while Defy is more for older vehicles.

This.

Also QS has the most zinc of all the blended HM mileage oils, but PHM has the most moly. Pick your poison.

How does Pennzoil HM compare to Maxlife?

It seems like Maxlife's only advantage is the lower volatility - which allows it to claim Dexos1 compatibility.

Pennzoil HM seems to have a slightly better add pack (detergency) and higher viscosity in the 5W-30 grade.

Two of the best HM oils available IMO. The Pennzoil is indeed thicker and otherwise clones PYB's wonderful add pack. The Maxlife has a very stout cleaning package though (about 2600 ppm calcium/sodium vs PHM's 2400 calcium).

I like them both but have used Maxlife more.
