Front brake M shaped clips/where to put?

They look like anti-drag clips for the pads but I would think that they would come with the pads, not the caliper. Look at your pads and see if they have notches in them at the top and bottom that would fit those clips.

I have seen the abutment clips included with rebuilt Calipers, and have seen them included with the pads as well.

Usually they are chrome plated spring steel, and have more squared areas to accommodate the "ears" on the Brake Pads.

So the geometry and finish seem wrong to be Abutment Clips to keep the Pads from dragging in the Caliper.

But I haven't seen what the pad ears look like...

See if they snap into the caliper where the pad ears go...

I think Olas is right.

IIRC, a Chevrolet Venture has something that acts as a spring that forces the pads rearward to reduce vibration.

It was a metal clip, and when you lift the caliper it decompresses.

This was quite a while ago, but it makes sense to reduce brake squeal.

IIRC it interlocs into the underneath of the Caliper, and forces the pads rearward.
