Hey i have a HP that has a smaller footprint than a normal computer.

Last year I cleaned it and put a grocery bag over it after unplugging it.

What else can I do?

I noticed an internal battery, akin to a keyless remote battery, while cleaning the innards. I just want to plug and play whenevver i decide to use it again.

Thank you very much

You're good. That's just the clock battery. They don't usually leak when they're kaput. When you boot it up again it might complain about having lost clock settings. They have these batteries at HF and Dollar tree now, a standard size, usually CR2032.

When you break it out, update windows and your antivirus before doing anything else.

If you want to have some nerd-fun, after breaking it out and updating windows and your antivirus, run a complete antivirus scan of your system. It'll show you what malicious software you have on your system that was still unknown the last time you updated the system. Depending on how you use your system, it can sometimes be surprising on how much is discovered.
