I was getting gas at a Shell station and saw this next to the register for the screaming deal (for a gas station) of only $1.65. Looks like STP? Just had to buy it because it is a Smitty's product

I was never sure about Smittys is it really a good oil? If so i might ask if my bulk oil guy carries it. When i first started with him he mentioned a couple of oils but i did not know some of them and maybe this is one of them... I settled on Conoco it is a good oil and its priced pretty good also. I think we got citgo for the 5w30 now.

If you are using good oil of the correct viscosity then why would anyone need to increase viscosity, or put something in the engine in which no known analysis of what's in it has been done?

Why would he or anyone? What about the other part of the question?

I'd take a free bottle, and mix it with something for bar oil.
