Seems the Liqui Moly Oil Saver is well thought of here to swell seals.

What is preferable - adding to fresh oil or towards the end of an oil change so it can be removed after it works?

Does anyone have any recommendations for other products that do the same job?

Liqui Moly Oil Saver is not a one-time treatment but should be added at each oil change. I've found that, after the initial 300ml dose, the treatment can be reduced to 150 or 100ml. With Liqui Moly's reputation I doubt the additive is doing any lubrication harm; as it's likely heavy on esters it may actually be beneficial. So, in answer to your question, add it to fresh oil and leave it in.

Change your oil and filter and add the recommended amount at every oil change. One 300 ml can is good for 5-6 liters. Anything over, dump in two cans.

The additive is entirely ester-based and will restore your seals, provided they are rubber based. If you have something like Viton seals, no additive will do you any good.

Berner sells seal sweller pure to workshops, we had a 30 litre jug at my previous place.

Probably other wholesalers like Wurth also sell the stuff.
