Seafoam - Did I do damage?

if the carbon is not preventing the top piston rings from sealing and you get good compression,
having carbon on the cylinder head and top of the piston reduces combustion chamber volume and increases compression. you would get more power and fuel economy, provided you're running the proper octane gasoline and there's no detonation.
why get rid of the carbon and reduce compression ratio... reducing cylinder pressure ?

Carbon (built-up on the back of the valves) absorbs fuel mixture and can create a lean or carbon-knock condition. In short, carbon can alter the air-fuel ratio and break-off, causing havoc with valve seating (burned valves) and sticking piston rings.
