I didn't know the Brit's used such an inferior grade of oil.

LOL, guess I will be the ginnie pig.I have used RL off and on for 10 years with good results, (seat of the pants results)I live in a place where there are no LandRover dealers so the Castrol pro OE is only available online. But we have a auto chain that Carries RL for 11.95 Per
which is the same as ordering the Castrol OE.

RR is at 63K and out of warranty.

No doubt that RL is a great oil.

But oils much cheaper are just as good and will run an engine to 200K+ miles.

Spend some time around here and I bet you won't continue to run it.

This will probably be my one and only fill with Amsoil and that's because the people around here have proven shelved oils are plenty well enough.

I ran RL5W-20 for years in my Echo. Maybe 180K miles worth.

I got many cases of it @ Advance auto on clearance @ 5.99/qt. (10 years ago)

There is no reason to go out of your way to run this oil. The characteristics it excels at are things a modern car doesn't tax and adequate protection can be found with less $ OTC oils.

My car specified 5w-30 but I've run 5w-20 for years.

YMMV with an RR
