8 quarts sure does help a lot. Germans understood the sump capacity importance long time ago. Hard to find an excuse for a complaint with this UOA.

Presumably this is the 3.0 supercharged and not the 2.0 turbo?

Yes. The 2.0T was not available for MY2012. Great catch and thanks for pointing it out!!

The 2.0T was available on the FWD A6. Since you did not mention quattro, I thought I'd request clarification. Thanks.

470 hp out of a 2.0T would have been really impressive though.

And a nightmare in a FWD setup.

It's "you're" not your. ;)) Don't you worry the engine will get torn down sooner or later for some performance cam replacement. This UOA was done just to look at the contaminants, TBN retention and viscosity after a grueling long run

It would be really silly to tear down an engine that's running perfectly well at only 27,000 miles. I think we'll have to wait until at least 150,000 miles.

470 out of 2.0T would be impressive. When I bought the car the salesman told me that the 2.0T wasn't going to be available until 2013. I'm glad I got the 3.0T though. Still getting close to 26mpg in combination driving.

RP has always had impressive TBN retention. Nice results. The oil did very well.

Did you notice any mpg improvement after installing the APR tune, if you can keep your foot off the accelerator, that is?

Wife's Q5 has a slightly detuned version of this engine and we only average around 18 mpg, alas, it's a heavier vehicle with aerodynamics of a brick.

There is definitely a mpg gain after the tune and CAI mod when I'm in the 70-80 mph range. But very slight as in less than 1mpg but a gain nonetheless.
