Changed the oil on my Caprice last night. Can't remember what full synthetic was in it from last time, but had some gm eos in it for zddp additive. Went 9000kms or about 5600 miles and about 4 months. Some cold starts around -25celsius or whatever that is in Fahrenheit. Two long trips a week to my girlfriend's place, the rest all short trips in town. The oil still looked Good even though I feel like I'm pushing it in an old carbureted engine that was known for bad camshafts back then.
This time I put a 3.8L jug of Amsoil 0w30 signature series (bought on clearance from our parts warehouse) and 1qt of 10w40 amsoil with extra zddp whatever that one is called. Oil filter was the expensive Napa premium filter bought at a flea market for like 1/4 price.
Going to run this one the same amount of miles but it's going to sit most of the summer while I drive the cutlass.
