if you find a 0W-20 Dino, be sure to let us know.

I've not seen this 0w-20 conventional anywhere,EVER,which leads me to conclude no such animals exist,so in the mean time, and in between times stick with the oil you are using. Toyota has it custom made to be optimal in their engines and from what I've read and interpreted in this forum is that its amongst the best 20 grades available.
If it ain't broke............

Here's my latest UOA after several 5K OCI's. This is my first attempt at 10K OCI:
New TGMO is listed first, and UOA is second with 34,794 miles on engine and 9924 miles on engine oil service

Very impressive results for a 10k OCI. With a 3.8 TBN, you could have gone longer. Thanks for the update.

Hey Indymac, thanks for keeping this thread alive. I still haven't tested my Sienna, just blindly following manufacturer recommendations for 10K OCI with TGMO. The thing is, the oil looks so good when it comes out, I don't have the slightest concern about this oil for this interval in this engine. I'M glad to see the TBN reserve in your testing. Everything I've seen and done indicates TGMO is a great oil.

Good luck Indydriver. I've decided to back this fill of TGMO down to a 5-7.5K OCI. At 10K the fuel, nitration, and oxidation #'s are getting a little high for my comfort zone.

Thanks and good luck to you as well. Good to follow your instincts and be conservative. If there's one thing I've learned from this website and 45 years of shade tree wrenchin' it's that every engine is different.

Given the intent to OCI at moderate amounts, I'd say you're not going to get any ROI from the syn. Plenty of dino oils can easily handle 5k-7k miles with the same results for less cost.

I am not sure that there is no benefit, assuming that there even exists a conventional 0w20.

If a synthetic will get just 1% better gas mileage (that is 1%, not 1 mpg) than a conventional, and you run it for 7k instead of 5k, you'll go 70 more miles than the conventional. Depending on your mpg and price of gas, you could approach break-even.

Not to mention one's time crawling under the vehicle.

I'd stick to synthetic. Plus he has to anyway if it calls for 0w20.
