Google Translate does not resolve hasenpfeffer into anything in English.

Even though hase in German is rabbit in English, and pfeffer is pepper, Google Translate returns hasenpfeffer in German as hasenpfeffer in English.

I have been lied to by all those Bugs Bunny cartoons, for decades.

would you expect Google to Translate Bratwurst as "Finely Chopped Meat(Brat) Sausage(Wurst)"?

English is Rife with words taken directly from other languages (countries/ cultures that the english either Conquered, or were conquered by)

It's the people/organisations that have enough money to pay TV to make people stupid that makes people stupid...And in Oz' case, we've got a taxpayer funded set of stations that take our money to make another set of the people stupid.

In reality, it's the people that choose to be/remain stupid that choose a side that suits their tastes, and then call the other side stupid.

People can choose to be educated.

And they can choose to be entertained.

And some media outlets have argued (and won) in court, that they are entertainment outlets, and thus don't need to provide actual truth, even while portraying same to their target audience as truth. The audience that they are entertaining... call themselves enlightened.
